FIYTO – the Federation of International
Youth Travel Organisations – is an open, world-wide, non-political
and non-sectarian travel trade association.
For qualifying companies, authorities, and
organisations actively engaged in incoming or outgoing youth travel, FIYTO
provides the pre-eminent professional forum to trade, exchange information
and advance the interests of the young traveller, your company or your
destination.
Since its inception in 1950, the aim of FIYTO
has been to promote educational, cultural, and social travel among young
people. Over the years, FIYTO has experienced significant growth in its
membership and its members’ turnover of travellers, tickets, and
overnights. The attendance at the Annual Conference is growing rapidly,
as is the readership of our magazine.
Today youth travel and tourism represents
20% of mainstream tourism. Towards the travel trade, international and
governmental organisations, FIYTO advocates the special identity of young
travellers and their right to affordable travel and travel-related services.
FIYTO is a member of the World Tourism Organization (WTO) and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). FIYTO enjoys operational relations with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
